Commitment to Christ

holy bible on pew - commitment to the gospel message
Having been on a HUGE break for too many reasons/excuses to share, my conviction about writing this blog has finally broken through and here we are!

2020 hasn’t exactly been a smooth ride. In fact quite the opposite is true. Most people (and sadly not just unbelievers) have fallen prey to the fear that is being spread by every media source and consequently many have fallen away from what truly matters and have instead been enticed away by vain babbling!

“What?”, you ask in mock-horror! Yes, that’s what I said. Because…what is the only cause that counts? Truly. That’s right, Christ and Him crucified. So why are we allowing division in our congregations over anything less? To answer that I will ask some further questions.

Why are we congregating in the first place?

Is it because we all agree?

Is it because we all like the same music?

Is it because we all agree on styles of clothing?

Are we all from the same economic bracket?

Shouldn’t we congregate because we love Jesus and he admonished us to not forsake the assembling of believers! And likewise shouldn’t that same love for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ blind us to the ‘flaws’ in others?

“And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:3‬ ‭KJV

I concede that nobody has arrived and there is room for growth in all and coincidentally that includes you! We are all works in progress: “I’m not where I should be, but thank God I’m not where I used to be!” – Joyce Meyer

Let us extend that grace to all those we rub shoulders with (is that a social distancing taboo??) on a daily/weekly basis!

Flush out fear and be bold in your commitment to Christ and the too-good-to-be-true gospel message!

Jesus loves you!
For the only cause that counts,
Julia
