Judges 16:20
One of the saddest events recorded in scripture is Judges 16:20 – the story of Samson.
Whenever I read it I think first that Samson was a spoiled brat, who got whatever he wanted and when things didn’t go his way…look out! Then I concede that it was the spirit of God on his life that enabled him to do the mighty things he did do! And regardless my opinion of him, I am saddened to think that while he did have the spirit of God on his life, he valued it so very little that he was completely unaware of that anointing – that presence having departed from him!
It is an admonishment to me to not just talk a great deal, but to sincerely value the Word of God!
I heard Keith Moore say this one time: “People always say, ooh, I love the Lord, yesss, I looove the Lord brother Keith!” Then he asks them if they read the Bible and the response is “wellll, now brother Keith, I don’t read the Bible, but I looove the Lord!”
IF you love the Lord, you will also love His Word, because He and His Word are one!
John 1:1 tells us that the Word was God. You cannot separate the two!
Be sensitive to the Word, give ear to hear what the spirit is saying to you. Value the Word of God, value his presence in your life. Be led by your amazing daddy God, who loves you and will never forsake you!
Praying for you this week!
