I’m going to share with you one of my daily confessions! It’s Psalm 103 verses 1 to 5:
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
When I declare it, I personalize it, and make it past tense! Why? Well, first of all because the word was written for me, and secondly because Jesus sealed His word when He shed His perfect, spotless blood for the remission of my sins! He has forgiven all my sins and iniquities, shortcomings, and he has healed all my diseases! He has, already redeemed my life from destruction and has crowned me with tender mercies!
Many beautiful songs have been written using this scripture, but sometimes I wonder if David was not admonishing himself and telling himself,
“Listen here soul! We ARE going to Bless the Lord!”
“We are not going to wallow in self pity, we are going to Bless the Lord and we are NOT going to forget any of his benefits! In all fairness, one could possibly forget some of those benefits when moving about from cave to cave as a wanted man!
I encourage you this week, in the midst of your trials, when faith seems weak, pull yourself up by the ear and look straight into the closest mirror and say,
Praise God for his great goodness and the great lover that He has for us!!
We love you and are praying for you!
